Feathered Fingerless Mitts
I made the Meret Mystery Beret (Ravelry Link) and decided to make these to go with it!
Feathered Lace Fingerless Mitts
Because of the lace pattern it has a fun rolled wavy edge on the side towards the elbow, but a simple straight, but rolled edge on your hand. It's a good complement to the rolled edge version of the Meret.
Needles : 4 Size 7 DPNs
Cast on 39 stitches, divided equally on 3 needles (13 stitches each)
Join in circle and
Knit 5 rows
Begin Lace Pattern
Row 1: Knit all stitches
Row 2: k1, yo, k4, slip 1, k2tog, psso, k4, yo, k1 (repeat 2 more times for remaining needles)
Row 3: knit
Row 4: k2, yo, k3, slip 1, k2tog, psso, k3, yo, k2 (repeat 2 more times)
Row 5: knit
Row 6: k3, yo, k2, slip 1, k2tog, psso, k2, yo, k3 (repeat 2 more times)
Row 7: knit
Row 8: k4, yo, k1, slip 1, k2tog, psso, k1, yo, k4 (repeat 2 more times)
Row 9: knit
Row 10: k5, yo, slip 1, k2tog, psso, yo, k5 (repeat 2 more times)
Repeat lace pattern 2 or 3 more times depending on desired length (pictured w/ 3 repeats - 4 times through all together before thumb hole)
Begin thumb hole: No longer working in the round, Turn work after each row! Working this area back and forth creates and nice thumb hole with no ends to tie in later and no sewing after the fact.
You're continuing the same lace pattern as above, except you're purling every other row and turning your work at the end of each row.
Row 1: (turn work) purl all stitches
Row 2: (turn) k1, yo, k4, slip 1, k2tog, psso, k4, yo, k1 (repeat 2 more times for remaining needles)
Row 3: purl
Row 4: k2, yo, k3, slip 1, k2tog, psso, k3, yo, k2 (repeat 2 more times)
Row 5: purl
Row 6: k3, yo, k2, slip 1, k2tog, psso, k2, yo, k3 (repeat 2 more times)
Row 7: purl
Row 8: k4, yo, k1, slip 1, k2tog, psso, k1, yo, k4 (repeat 2 more times)
Row 9: purl

Row 11: purl
Row 12: k1, yo, k4, slip 1, k2tog, psso, k4, yo, k1 (repeat 2 more times)
Row 13: Rejoin the pieces to work in a round and Knit all stitches
